Fun for the whole family
At Järvsöbacken everything is close to hand and we have ample skiing for all. Younger children have their own ski area with a toboggan slope, places for grilling sausages, wooden windshields for when the going gets tough and our friendly staff are always nearby. For the more adventures young skiiers their is a freeridepark complete with rails and jumps.
Järvsö is beautifully situated in the vally of the river Ljusnan in Hälsingland. Enjoy the view while you´re skiing. We offer 19 slopes facing every direction, so you can always choose a sunny or sheltered run. There are slopes to suit both beginners and advanced skiers.
Ski school for everyone
Improving your skiing is fun and it’s rewarding to become a more advanced and secure skiier. Järvsö´s skischool is highly regarded. You can choose between group-or privatelessons, from beginners to advanced, in carving, snowboard and telemark.
Let the children learn skiing with our highly qualified instructors while they’re having fun with newfound friends! After a day on the slopes the ski instructors will take care of the little ones in the Loaclub, where the skiinstructors take the children on snowmobiles, play and have fun.
Skishop, rental and restaurant
In our guesthouse you´ll find everything you need for a successful day on the slopes. In the ski shop you can buy hats, gloves, socks, ski goggles and snacks. If you want to rent or buy ski equipment our rental staff are happy to help you. We have more than 2000 pairs of skis to offer you. If you´ve rented carving skis and want to try a snowboard after lunch just make the switch!
A hearty meal is served daily in the restaurant, where we serve hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, soup and of course a selection of pastry. Take a break from skiing with a hot cup of chocolate or a cold beer.
Perfect ski weekend.
Järvsöbacken is the perfect ski resort for a weekend break. It only takes 3 hours to go by car or train from Stockholm to Järvsö. In no time you will be ‘swooshing’ down the slopes. Contact the tourist information if you’re interested in a package trip.

We open in November and close on the end of April. Järvsö is normally blessed with more than adequate snowfall and the slopes are equipped with artificial snow cannons should the heavens not provide the real thing!
