Skiing for the whole family
Järvsöbacken is the perfect resort for a family who wants fantastic skiing within easy reach from Stockholm and Mälardalen. It is family owned since 1984, with a proud history of offering skiing to local villagers already back in 1937.
We offer 23 slopes, 9 lifts and 5 carpet lifts in the middle of the village of Järvsö.
It is snow reliable thanks to extensive snowmaking infrastructure and it is one of Sweden’s most visited skiing restorts.

That’s why we have large children’s areas with carpet lifts, three easy button lifts and three easy, wide slopes.
Ski school
We have a variety of ski school groups; for the 3-year old beginner to the teen who has skied all their life and wish to learn the carving technique. Our group lessons are held in Swedish.
We offer private lessons in English. A private instructor can also be hired for a group of friends.
Green areas and snow parks
Fun runs with bumps and dips and mini rails.
We offer a smaller snow park in the green area. We also have a self timer, skicross and a bigger snow park to offer together with much more.
Loa kids club
Welcome to Loa kids club! Here we have fun in the snow, go treasure hunting, visit the piste machine garage and more.
The Loa kids club runs between 2.45 pm and 3.45 pm at Ski Center North Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday for children 3-7 years old.
The activities are held in Swedish however many of our ski instructors can speak English.
Free skipass 0-6 years
Children between the age of 0 to 6 years old can use our lifts for free in the company of an adult.

You can lend snow-riders, find play areas, take part in fun activities and book outdoor babysitting. Please call or email us for more information.

SKI CENTER NORTH
In the north area you find service house Ski Center North with restaurant Nomad Burgers, skipass sales, ski school, ski rental and shop etc. Here you also find a green skiing area together with a sledging hill, Loa kids club, and more restaurants and cafés.
You can find outdoor fire places and a newly built cosy heated cabin with WCs if you need a little break or bring your own picnic.
BERGSHOTELLET
On the south side of the mountain you find Bergshotellet with restaurant, skipass sales, ski school, ski rental and shop etc.
Here you have a smaller green child area with a sledging hill and several restaurants and hotels located around the mountain’s south side. If you bring your own picnic we have a grill bar and heated shelter and WCs.
Järvsö offer many different accommodations such and ski in ski out hotels, cabins, spa hotels, and more.
Our snow system
Järvsöbacken offers reliable snow conditions thanks to one of Europe’s most modern snow canon systems. We can produce 57.600 cubic meters of snow each day with the right conditions. This is the same as 5.760 lorry loads!
Snow guarantuee
Järvsö’s “Snow Guarantee” means that we promise to open at least two slopes from the top and both children’s areas – if we do not fulfill this you have the possibility to recieve full refund for your accommodation, skipass, ski rental and/or ski school reservation.
Our Snow guarantee do not apply to temporary closed lifts or slopes due to technical issues or bad weather conditions.
